ATLANTA – July 13, 2009 – As part of a strategic growth initiative, Document Technologies, Inc. (DTI), the nation’s largest independent provider of legal support services and document outsourcing, announces legal industry veteran Carrie Mallen has joined the company as its West Regional Sales Director. In this new role, Ms. Mallen is leading sales and business development activities on the West Coast for DTI’s corporate national accounts team. Ms. Mallen brings to DTI more than 20 years experience in the legal profession, primarily in the management of complex litigation and investigations with specialized expertise in electronic discovery and electronically stored information (ESI) management, including e-discovery readiness and compliance. She is a subject matter expert in cost modeling and control for e-discovery.

Mallen’s expertise and leadership further strengthen DTI’s team of corporate in-house discovery experts, and her addition supports the company’s growth initiatives in this market segment. As corporations seek to gain greater control and reduce costs associated with litigation, regulatory and compliance matters, DTI has expanded its national accounts program to help clients streamline discovery processes and operations and offer national pricing contracts in the delivery of quality services and its unique suite of best-of-breed tools throughout the discovery process.

Mallen previously was the owner and founder of the consulting firm eDiscovery Response Team, LLC. Working with Fortune 500 corporations and the nation’s top law firms, she proactively identified process improvements within legal departments to increase efficiency and effectiveness in all phases of e-discovery, ESI and litigation management cost modeling, particularly in document review.

Before becoming a consultant, Ms. Mallen served as the litigation support manager at Fortune 18 healthcare conglomerate McKesson Corporation in San Francisco. During her 10 years in-house at McKesson, Mallon created protocol and led key discovery projects including electronic document processing and review teams for hundreds of lawsuits, government investigations, subpoenas and M&A projects. Prior to McKesson Corporation, Ms. Mallen spent 10 years in case management at the national law firm Thelen, Priest & Reid, before which she served as the office manager for the Law Offices of Jerrold Offstein in San Francisco.

Ms. Mallen is a frequent participant and presenter at professional organizations that focus on e-discovery issues and emerging topics. She is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production; The Sedona Conference Working Group 6 on International Electronic Information Management Discovery and Disclosure: and the Council of Litigation Management, Gerson Lehrman Group, and multiple e-discovery organizations. She also has been a featured presenter at MCLE programs for PLI, IQPC, Hastings Law, and an invited presenter and organizer of the Corporate eDiscovery Forum, General Counsel Roundtables and many other panels.
