Document Technologies, Inc. Hosts Large Document Review

published on March 10, 2009

ATLANTA – March 10, 2009 - Document Technologies, Inc. (DTI), the nation’s largest independent provider of legal support services and document outsourcing, recently hosted a 40-attorney litigation document review project at the company’s Washington, D.C. Regional Technology Center (RTC). The Dine Group, a premier national provider of contract attorneys and paralegals to law firms, in-house law departments and government agencies, contracted with DTI to provide the facility and resources necessary to accommodate the project.

DTI’s RTC includes the infrastructure (computers, monitors, furniture, and Internet connectivity) to support large review teams on very limited notice – allowing them to support their clients more effectively. For this project, with less than one business day’s notice DTI deployed computer workstations customized to the exact specifications of the project and provided dedicated office space for the review project manager and an associate from the law firm. DTI’s experience in facilitating the review process allows for the implementation of accommodations (such as dual-monitor workstations) that enhance the efficiency of the review effort.

Based on the production deadlines associated with this case, the review team frequently worked well into the night and even through the weekend on one occasion, a necessity that was made easier because of DTI’s accommodating facilities.

“DTI worked closely with our team to coordinate a successful review under a very short deadline,” The Dine Group President Diane McIlree said. “With less than 24 hours’ notice, DTI was able to provide an exceptional review facility that was not only comfortable for our large team, but promoted an efficient review process. DTI clearly understands the dynamic nature of litigation review and was able to scale resources to support our project as it progressed; we won’t hesitate to use their impressive facility and resources again in the future.”

DTI offers superior processes, tools, and capacity for all aspects of electronic discovery, from forensic data acquisition to advanced file processing and data conversion to hosting. In addition to the RTC (located in the renowned Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave.), DTI services clients through offices in more than 20 other markets across the U.S. including their National Technology Center, which also serves as DTI’s headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

Among the premiere features of the RTC is the 80-plus-seat discovery review center, including amenities to ensure the comfort of legal teams required to work extensive hours. The facility offers optimum security; all visitors to the Reagan Building must present a valid photo ID and pass through fully staffed security stations, complete with metal detectors. DTI’s RTC is controlled through card key access. Multiple layers of security include restricted access to sensitive work areas, biometric thumb print access to the forensics lab, and 16 security cameras strategically placed throughout the space feed a full time digital video recorder with time stamping.

The facility offers a state-of-the-art forensics lab and a full-scale processing center for both electronic and paper discovery projects, in addition to sales and administrative offices. The RTC also offers Lit Works™ certified training and staffing solutions, and a training center for DTI’s facilities management operations staff.

Washington, D.C.’s Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center is conveniently located near many of the city’s largest law firms and offers a Metro stop inside the building.
